For Primary 1

• Your child can start school in August 2024 if their fifth birthday is between 1 March 2024 and 29 February 2025.
• If your child is due to start Primary 1 in August 2024, they must be registered at their catchment school by the end of November 2023.
• Registration and placing request forms will be available online from 20th November 2023. These forms can be found here.
• Letters will be posted on the 6th November 2023 for those children that attend a Midlothian Council funded Early Learning setting or partnership nursery. The letter will confirm which are your catchment schools.

How to apply for a primary school

• Online registration will be available on this page in November 2023.
• If you prefer your child to attend a different school, you can request a non catchment place online. 
• Feel free to come to the school office if you would like a paper copy of the enrolment form.
