School Information

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to Sacred Heart Primary School website.  If you are reading this, either your child is currently at our school or you are considering sending your child to us.  In either case, I hope you find all the information we have gathered helpful and informative.

At Sacred Heart we do our utmost to ensure that children’s time with us is happy and fruitful.  We work in partnership with our parents to help our learners grow academically, emotionally and spiritually.

Whilst Sacred Heart is a Roman Catholic school, with strong links to Sacred Heart Parish and Fr Tadeusz Majcher, we are pleased that parents with many different faith backgrounds choose our school community for their children.

Our School Handbook is available for all those whose children attend our school and it has been compiled to give you information about our aims and procedures, the place, the people and the curriculum.

If your child has an additional support need of any kind, please ensure we know about it at enrolment so that we can give him or her the help needed.

In May 2006 the Scottish Parliament passed an Act that aims to help parents to be:

  • involved with their child’s education and learning
  • welcomed as an active participant in the life of the school
  • encouraged to express their views on school education generally

Initiatives such as ‘Curriculum for Excellence’ and ‘Assessment is for Learning’ regard parents as integral to providing effective education and learning for children and young people, and we have a lively and active Parent Partnership which works as a tool to effect links between home and school and just as effective a Learner Council which supports our learners and aspects of school improvement too.

Please tell us if any information is unclear.  We welcome all feedback which will improve the content and appearance of the site.

Yours sincerely

Siobhra Cran
Acting Headteacher
