First Aid Training 2018-19

The Outdoor Learning Service provide a range of first aid training for Midlothian Council Staff. Details of all our courses are shown below.

All courses are provided to HSE standard as per the First Aid at Work regulations (1981) and Guidance on Training provision as outlined in HSE guidance GIS3 and follow the SQA qualification Level 6 units.  Scroll down for details of courses or alternatively you can download a printable list of courses.

Please note from January 2017 – SQA  Certification is now available for all units delivered.

Emergency First Aid at work (EFAW 6 hours)

This one day course (6 hours) EFAW course is aimed at key individuals who have been designated to provide first aid provision for low risk workplaces in the Council. It covers the SQA , SQCF level 6  Unit – Emergency First Aid in the Workplace

Cost MLC Staff £45.00.

Time : 0900-1600 (1 Day)

First Aid at Work (FAW 18 Hours)

A three day (18 Hours) Course is aimed at key individuals who have been designated to provide first aiid provision for medium to high risk workplaces. This course covers SQA Units

  • SQA , SQCF level 6 Unit – Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
  • SQA, SQCF level 6 Unit – Recognition and Management of Illness in the Workplace

Cost – MLC Staff £130.00

Time: 0900 – 1600(3 Day)

First Aid at Work Requalification (12 hours)

This two day (12 Hour) FAWR course is aimed at first aiders who have previously attended the three day First Aid at Work (FAW) course who need to re-qualify after 3 years to maintain their First Aid at Work Certificate, covering;

  • SQA , SQCF level 6 Unit – Emergency First Aid in the Workplace .
  • SQA, SQCF level 6 Unit – Recognition and management of Illness in the Workplace

Cost MLC Staff: £90.00.
