On the 19th November, P6R from Mauricewood Primary took part in a performance at the Church Hill Theatre as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival. They were the only school in Midlothian to take part.

The Shakespeare Schools Festival is the UK’s largest youth drama festival – 1000 schools took part this year in theatres across the UK.    Mauricewood performed The Tempest to a sell-out crowd – the children were actors, stage managers, musicians, light and sound technicians and back-stage crew.

The children’s participation in the festival has enabled them to make progress in all 4 capacities as Successful Learners, Responsible Citizens, Effective Contributors and Confident Individuals.
